Ann M. (Hull) Benedix, 85, of Newmarch Street, Ipswich, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in her home, surrounded be her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. “Jack” Benedix, with whom she shared sixty-six years of marriage.
Born in Ipswich on January 11, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ann (Buffet) Hull. Ann was a lifelong Ipswich resident and was the valedictorian of her Ipswich High School graduating class.
She was an accomplished alpine skier and tennis player. She enjoyed her time with her husband, children, and friends in Ipswich and at their New Hampshire ski house. She and Jack also enjoyed their extensive travels throughout the U.S., Europe, and cruising the Caribbean. She loved walks along her beloved Ipswich River and Ipswich Neck. She was an avid gardener and painter of local seascapes and will be remembered as a hostess with style and grace for her many parties and family gatherings she organized over the years.
She and her husband were devoted parishioners of the Ascension Memorial Church, where she had served many roles within the congregation.
Ann is survived by a son, John David Benedix, of Ipswich; a daughter, Cori A. Kingsley, and her husband, Mark, of Exeter, NH; grandsons Daniel Benedix of Woodbridge, Va., Brandon Kingsley and his wife, Amy, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Nathan Kingsley of Wakefield; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Amy Carter, Stanley Hull, Jr., and June Esperson.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29, in the Ascension Memorial Church, 31 County Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment in the Highland Cemetery was private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich
